Crime Blotter: Auto Theft, Beer Heist And A Woman Saved

Local police activity for the week of May 23 to May 29.

5-25-2011: Sgt. Marty Amaro on duty.

  • At 1:40 p.m. Glendora Police responded to a report of a red Honda Civic that was reported stolen from the parking lot of Citrus College in the 1000 block of West Foothill Boulevard.

5-26-2011: Rob Lamborghini on duty.

  • At 7:30 p.m., Glendora Police responded to a report of an. Detectives pulled over and arrested Christopher Faraj, 28, of Glendora, as Faraj drove north on Grand Avenue following the attempted robbery.The incident began when the suspect entered the Wells Fargo branch. He handed a note demanding money to a Wells Fargo employee, Lamborghini reported. Lamborghini said the employee responded that the bank was closed and no money was available.

  • Lamborghini reported that The 23rd was a woman who collapsed at Glendora High School after leaving the St. Dorothy Church Oak Tree Festival shortly after midnight on May 22. An officer patrolling the area in a police car stopped and treated the woman using CPR and electrical shock from an automated external defibrillator.

5-28-2011: Sgt. Matt Egan on duty.

  • At 8:07 p.m. Glendora Police received a report of beer stolen from a liquor store in the 600 block of West Route 66. They learned that two men each stole one can of beer and then drove off in a car. Police stopped a possible suspect car, but it wasn’t the one they were looking for. However, the driver of the car the officer pulled over had a warrant, so an unrelated arrest was made. The beer culprits were not found.
