Crime Blotter: Accidents, Scams, DUIs

Glendora crime for the week of Jan. 31 to Feb. 6.

Monday, Jan. 31:  Lt. Brian Summers on duty.

  • At 7:14 a.m., Glendora Police responded to a non-injury traffic accident at Lone Hill Avenue and the 210 freeway.
  •  Police responded at 8:19 a.m. to an injury accident at the intersection of Barranca Avenue and Gladstone Street. A female driver was broadsided by another vehicle headed northbound on Barranca Avenue. Police cited the driver of the northbound car for not having a driver’s license.
  •  At 8:43 a.m. police responded to a non-injury accident near the intersection of N. Barranca and E. Foothill avenues. A motorist slowed down in order to yield to an ambulance and was rear-ended by another car.
  •  At 3:28 p.m. Glendora police responded to a . A teacher and student pilot in the small two-seat Cessna 172 aircraft escaped serious injury in the accident. The LA County Fire rescue team also responded to the mishap.

Tuesday, Feb. 2:  Sgt. Matt Egan on duty.

  •  At 3:37 p.m. police responded to a report of a car stolen form 24-Hour Fitness, 1371 E. Gladstone Ave. The white 2000 Ford Ram pickup was taken between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday. Police have no suspect information, Egan said.

 Wednesday, Feb. 3: Sgt. Rob Lamborghini on duty.

  • Police reported a . A man aged about 25 and a woman about 45 approached a resident and identified themselves as being part of a government program that provides free cable TV service to low-income residents. The resident allowed the man and woman to take two flat screen TVs out to the SUV. But as soon as they placed the TVs in the vehicle the man and woman hoped into the vehicle and drove off. Value of the two TVs is $2,000. Police are looking for a cream-colored Ford SUV.

 Friday, Feb. 5: Sgt. Matt Williams on duty.

  • Glendora Police arrested an . At 7:24 p.m. Glendora Police took Warren Grizzle, 52, into custody.
  •  At 10:30 p.m. police responded to two cars that were broken into in the 700 block of E. Plymouth St. Side windows were smashed out on both cars. A GPS unit was taken from one of the vehicles. Nothing was reported taken from the other vehicle.

  • Glendora police arrested six motorists on suspicion of driving under the influence starting at 7:25 p.m. Saturday night and concluding at 3 a.m. Sunday.
  • At 12:19 a.m. police responded to a fight between two groups of youths in the 500 block of E. Haltern. After breaking up the fight, police arrested four in one group for charges ranging from warrants to public intoxication and possession of graffiti tools. Two were arrested in the second group, one for possessing graffiti tools and another for possessing ecstasy for sale.
  • At 7:57 a.m. Sunday a white 1996 Dodge Caravan was stolen from the 100 block of S. Treanor Ave. A woman left the keys in the unlocked car while she unloaded kids and food. The car was stolen form the home’s driveway, said Lt. Brian Summers. The vehicle contained the woman’s wallet, he said.
  • At 9:23 a.m. police responded to a vehicle burglary in the 1100 block of E. Bennett Ave. Police are trying to determine what items were taken.
