Covina PD Reports Case of Child Annoyance

Suspect allegedly offered a teen girl a ride in his car near Charter Oak High School.

Parents in the Charter Oak Unified School District were notified of a case of child annoyance that occurred the morning of March 21, according to Covina Police.

The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Covina Blvd. and Glendora Avenue. A male Hispanic in his 20s was driving westbound on Covina Blvd. when he drove up to the 14-year-old girl and asked her twice if she needed a ride. The suspect then turned south on Glendora Avenue and drove off, said Lt. John Curley of Covina Police.

The suspect vehicle is described as a green, late '90s, four-door compact vehicle. There is no description of suspect clothing. The suspect also had a mustache.

A phone message was sent to parents in the COUSD last night between 6 and 7 p.m., according to Johanna Dragoo, receptionist at Charter Oak.

Right now, there is no connection between this incident and the sexual assault that happened in Covina, March 17, Lt. Curley said.
