Collision Near Citrus College Leaves One Badly Injured
Investigation continues into crash that left an elderly woman in critical condition.
One driver was critically injured today in a two-vehicle collision near Citrus College.
The accident happened just after 2 p.m. in the intersection of Foothill Blvd. at Barranca Avenue when an eastbound vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle, police said. There was only one occupant per car.
Once Glendora officers arrived, they observed one driver, an elderly female, unconscious and trapped in her car, police said.

"She was unconscious at the scene and, as far as I know, never regained consciousness at the scene," said Lt. Rob Lamborghini of Glendora Police.
An extrication process began to remove the elderly woman from her car, authorities said. The woman was transported to County USC.

An investigation continues as officers are trying to determine exactly why the accident happened, but Lamborghini said that one of the vehicles may have failed to stop for a red light.
The condition of the other driver was not known.
