Colby Fire Declared 100% Contained

The Colby Fire was declared 100 percent contained Friday, more than two
weeks after breaking out in the Glendora/Azusa area of the Angeles National
Forest.

The fire broke out on Jan. 16 and consumed about 19 hundred, 50
acres, destroyed five homes, damaged 17 others while injuring five firefighters
and one civilian. At the peak of the blaze, fire descended from the mountains
into residential neighborhoods as 1,175 firefighters, nine helicopters and two
SuperScooper aircraft were thrown into an aggressive fire attack.
