Charges Filed Against Fake Mourner

Prosecutors filed charges Monday against a Chino man suspected of breaking into a woman’s vehicle as she mourned the death of her Vietnam veteran father at his funeral.

, 31, was charged with grand theft of personal property, identity theft and second-degree commercial burglary. Abrajan was arraigned at a West Covina Superior Court Monday, according to the D.A.’s Office.

Glendora Police say the burglary occurred June 18 while Abrajan pretended to be a mourner at funeral services for former Marine, Aurelio Rodriguez, 64, at .

Photos taken during the service show Abrajan standing near the SUV of Angela Earthman, Rodriguez’s daughter. Another photo shows Abrajan inside, rummaging through the SUV.

Police also say Abrajan also tried to use one of Earthman’s credit cards to purchase $29 worth of food at an Azusa In-N-Out.

Abrajan’s preliminary hearing is scheduled Aug. 20.
