Burglary Suspect Found Hiding in Neighbor’s Backyard

A La Verne man was arrested for stealing from a Glendora Kohl's Thursday evening.

A burglary suspect who allegedly stole merchandise from a Glendora Kohl’s was found hiding in a La Verne backyard, according to Glendora Police.

A Kohl’s loss prevention officer reported the burglary Thursday evening at around 6:45 p.m.

Romney Paredes, 22, of La Verne, allegedly left the store with $200 worth of stolen clothing. He and a woman were able to leave the store, but Glendora Police eventually tracked down Paredes in a residence in an unincorporated area of La Verne.

A woman, who fit the description of the woman the suspect left the store with, refused to allow officers into the home. A police helicopter later spotted the suspect hiding in the bushes of a neighbor’s backyard.

Paredes was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and violation of parole. A 29- year-old La Verne woman was charged with aiding and abetting.
