Burglar Traced, Arrested After Stealing Items During Lil Wayne Video Shoot
Multiple items were taken from a production trailer at a video shoot featuring the rapper at Citrus College Friday morning.
A burglar thought he was home free after stealing multiple items from the set of a Lil Wayne video shoot, but found himself arrested thanks to a GPS tracking device installed in a computer.
Glendora Police arrested Marco Negrete, 20, of South El Monte, Calif. shortly after midnight early Friday on suspicion of stealing a laptop, a Louis Vuitton purse, tickets to the NBA All-Star game, money and a wallet from a production staff trailer during the making of a Lil Wayne video at Citrus College, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd., Glendora.
Musical groups Lil Wayne and Porcelain Black were being filmed for the video, Sgt. Scott Strong reported.

The laptop computer had a built-in GPS tracking device that helped police trace the suspect to the 1900 block of Bryce Road in South El Monte.
Police arrived with a search warrant and found the stolen items.

Police believe Negrete posed as a backup dancer to gain access to the trailer.
Negrete was taken to the Glendora jail, in lieu of $20,000 bail.
