Brother of Pasadena Area Football Stars Arrested

Kasem McCullough -- a coach, former football player and relative of the famed football star McCullough brothers -- was taken into custody on warrants and other offenses Saturday morning.

Glendora Police Saturday arrested Kasem McCullough -- brother of Pasadena area high school football legends Sultan and Saladin McCullough -- on outstanding warrants, authorities said.

McCullough, 42, of Pasadena, was arrested on suspicion of identity theft and possession of known stolen property. McCullough also had outstanding warrants, for DUI, driving with a suspended license, failure to provide insurance and for a minor vehicle code violation, police said.

The arrest occurred at 2:42 a.m. in the 1700 block of South Glendora Avenue. An officer observed McCullough making an illegal turn, according to Glendora police Sgt. Mike Randazzo.

Also in the vehicle was Anneice Harrott, 26, who was arrested on suspicion of identity theft and possession of known stolen property.

McCullough was released on $75,000 bail.

Harrott was released on $50,000 bail.

The McCullough brothers are well-known in the San Gabriel Valley in high school football. Saladin McCullough was a running back at John Muir High School in Pasadena during the early 1990s and played for the University of Oregon in the mid-1990s. He was drafted in the 464th round of the XFL for the Los Angeles Xtreme.

Brother Sultan McCullough also played at John Muir and was a running back at USC during the early 2000s and played for the Washington Redskins in 2003.

Kasem played for the South Dakota Coyotes in the early 1990s as a defensive back.
