Big Rig Crash on 60 Freeway Backs Up Traffic For Miles

A collision involving a big rig and three other vehicles on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar today backed up traffic for miles and left five people injured, including the trucker, who was trapped in the wreckage.

The big rig ended up off the freeway shoulder following the crash, which was reported shortly after 10 a.m. at Grand Avenue. One vehicle involved in the collision was a Caltrans van that was parked on the right shoulder, the California Highway Patrol reported.

County fire crews were sent to extricate the truck driver from the wreckage and had an air ambulance standing by to transport the patient to a hospital.
