Big Rig Crash Blocks Transition Road on 210 Freeway

Update:

A big rig carrying a load of wood crashed today on the transition road connecting segments of the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena, blocking it for more than six hours.

The single-vehicle crash occurred just after 4 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Tony Polizzi said.

Drivers need to take the transition road to get back on to the westbound Foothill Freeway after it splits off, Polizzi said.

No injuries were reported, he said.

The truck jackknifed and spilled its entire load of wood and metal sidings, Polizzi said.

The truck, wood and metal debris blocked both lanes of the transition road, he said. The CHP declared a SigAlert at 4:57 p.m.

The transition road was reopened by 10:42 p.m., the CHP reported.
