The adult male had no identification on him, officials said.

Glendora Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a bicyclist was seriously injured at the intersection of Glendora Avenue and Gladstone Street about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The adult male was taken to County USC Medical Center, Police Sgt. Marty Amaro said. Amaro said the fact he was taken to the USC Medical Center likely means his injuries were serious.

Amaro added that the man had no ID on him and police do not yet know the man’s age or residence.

Despite initial eyewitness reports indicating a body had been lying on the street, Lt. Joe Ward confirmed the "body" had been a jacket.

"We have to keep evidence where they are during the investigation," said Ward. Traffic was rerouted for two hours until the investigation was completed.

Amaro said he had no further information on the accident including which way the bicyclist was traveling or the motor vehicle involved.

The cause of the accident was still being determined Tuesday evening, Amaro said.
