Bicyclist Hit by Car, Hospitalized

The bike rider was struck by a car that was turning left from Foothill Boulevard onto Washington Avenue.

A man was air-lifted by a Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter to an area hospital this morning after being hit by a car that was making a left turn from Foothill Boulevard onto Washington Avenue.

The west-bound bicyclist was traveling through the intersection shortly before 8 a.m., Glendora Police Lt. Brian Summers said. The driver did not see the bicyclist, he said.

The impact sent the bicyclist head-first into the car’s windshield.

Unfortunately, the bike rider was not wearing a safety helmet, Summers said.
