Azusa Police Seek Suspects in Park Armed Robbery

An armed man took another man's cell phone and wallet while he was seated in a parked vehicle Saturday near Zacatecas Park in Azusa, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the robbery at 974 W. 1st St. at 1:34 a.m., according to a department statement.

The two victims told officers that while they were seated in their vehicle a dark blue, four-door Kia sedan parked alongside them and two suspects got out of the car and approached, according to the statement.

One of the suspects, armed with a handgun, demanded property from the victims. After taking the man's cell phone and wallet, the suspects entered the Kia and were last seen driving south on Vernon Avenue, from Paramount Street.

Azusa police asked anyone who saw the robbery to call (626) 812-3200.
