I do feel sorry for this person, but being someone who lives along GMR, I am really sick of all these "racers" coming every weekend and treating the whole area like it's some race track. I can't ride my bike up the street anymore with great fear of someone hitting me with their vehicle, and having these people also show up in the middle of the night is also just as bad. Please police, patrol the area better, or something!

This collision was not the motorcyclist's fault at all, and it's mighty ignorant of you to automatically assume it was. The rider is relatively new to canyon riding and was taking it slow and easy on a practice run. What the reporter FAILED to report was the real reason this happened. Below is a copy/paste of part of his FB status. Note that his only mistake was not wearing the right pants. But believe me when I tell you, he's learned from his mistake (the hard way, unfortunately). "GMR run and headed down Glendora side southbound. One of the last corners before reaching the bottom, car comes up insanely fast and crosses Double yellows. I have no space as I'm about to corner and his family van is in my lane. Long story short, irony of motorcycle awareness month hits me and I fly 50 ft according to witnesses. [snip] I stayed the night [at the hospital] going through many scans and x-rays. Everything but my legs were fine. I was never an ATGATT kinda guy, its your choice what you do in life. But I really feel I woulda suffered spinal injury or death if Dainese wasnt so badass. My new RSR gloves are awesome, but their first use will be my last. No scratches/scuffs whatsoever on hands. Jacket arnor took a beating according to Ben the bicyclist. Little bruising on hands, and rash on legs. Cracked pelvic bone in 2 places. I'm currently walking with crutches, albeit very slowly. I just got home and thanks for all the well-wishes from everybody. I'm glad I'm still here."

Not all of us are douche bags. @Riders - be safe. @Drivers - you do the same.

GMR is very dangerous for ANY that cross the line. I happy to hear the rider will recover. I hope the CHP report matches the above riders account, I saw the scene...car over line.
