Area Teacher Accused of Molestation Headed to Court

If convicted, Boyle faces a sentence of life imprisonment.

An arraignment and plea hearing were scheduled for John David Boyle on Monday morning. The former eighth-grade teacher from Glendora faces a half-dozen charges, including enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity over the Internet, leading to the molestation of a 14-year-old boy.

Boyle was arrested in June by agents with Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations on suspicion of distributing child pornography on the Internet.

The eighth-grade teacher at Royal Oak Middle School allegedly met an undercover agent in his classroom so they could look at child pornography.
