Law enforcement agencies across Los Angeles County have made more than 1,000 arrests in the first week of its summer anti-DUI campaign, officials reported.
The Avoid the 100 DUI task force, made up of 100 county law enforcement agencies made 1,258 arrests since Friday, Aug. 17 when the campaign kicked off.
In 2011 during the same time period, the campaign nabbed 1,649 motorists driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
During the rest of the campaign, all regularly scheduled traffic and patrol officers will focus efforts on DUI arrests.
The campaign will continue though the end of Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. DUI checkpoints and patrols will be conducted at the following locations:
