2 Arrested in City Yard Burglary

The two men were seen leaving the city water yard in a truck loaded with pipes.

Two men were arrested Wednesday night after Glendora Police observed the men leaving a city water yard with equipment in the back of their truck.

At around 11 p.m., Glendora Police stopped the two men under suspicion of burglary when the suspects left the city maintenance yard on East Sierra Madre Avenue. Upon closer inspection, police observed that the truck was loaded with pipes, according to scanner reports.

Glendora Police arrested Carlos Jesus Aviles, 37, and Gerardo Carreon Huizar, 38 and charged them with burglary and receiving known property worth more than $400.

Aviles' bail was set at $325,000 and Huizar's bail was set at $20,000.

Stolen pipes and other construction material are often resold for cash, according to authorities.
