What To Do About Coyotes in Glendora?

I was walking my dog two days ago a block north of Foothill at 9:30 am when suddenly we saw a full grown coyote standing watching us in a yard less than 50 ft away. He was as big as my 85 lb dog. He didn't seem frightened. My dog reacted but fortunately the coyote casually jaunted away. Just wondered if the city has any kind of scents, traps or deterents for coyotes....if there are such things. But this was a time of day when a mother was walking with her baby in a stroller and many small dogs were barking from backyards. I know Glendora leases out all animal control. But does that agency do anything about wildlife? Or is that the Forest Service? I don't want to see coyotes killed. Just discouraged from getting too comfy in our neighborhoods.
