Memorial Services Set For Fallen Glendora Soldier

A service is scheduled in Glendora for fallen Staff Sergeant Kenneth Wade Bennett.

Staff Sergeant Kenneth Wade Bennett will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, but a local memorial service for the Glendora native will take place in Glendora.

Funeral services for the 26-year-old soldier who was killed by a buried enemy bomb during his deployment in Sperwan Gar, Afghanistan is scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

A local service for Bennett, known as Wade to friends and family, is set for Dec. 15 at Glenkirk Church at 11 .m.

Bennett’s parents, Ken and Nancy Bennett, are active members in the Glendora Yellow Ribbon project.

Bennett left behind a wife, a 2-year-old daughter, and another child on the way. Donations for his family are currently being accepted and can be mailed to 1223 Sierra View Drive, Glendora, CA 91740, care of Nancy Bennett.
