Small Earthquakes Jolt Los Angeles Area

A 4.4 earthquake and minor aftershock rattled Orange and Los Angeles counties.

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake centered in Yorba Linda shook Northern Orange County and was felt as far away as Thousand Oaks and Santa Clarita Tuesday night.

A preliminary report from the U.S. Geological survey put the quake’s epicenter in Yorba Linda.

The quake hit at 11.23 p.m. and was followed by a 2.2-maggnitude aftershock less than a minute later.
