GLENDORA BOYS BASKETBALL TAKES FOURTH IN OWN TOURNAMENT

After eliminating the Walnut Mustangs from the winner bracket of the Pride of the Foothills tournament Wednesday evening 58-39, the Glendora High School boys’ basketball team dropped two games in the tournament to finish in fourth place.

The Tartans, playing without leading scorer Nick Coletta dropped Friday’s semifinal game against Northview 55-42, and then was edged out by Don Lugo 49-48 in Saturday’s third-place game.

“Anytime you come into Glendora and beat Glendora, it's nice," Northview coach Ron Rice said. "We recognize they don't have (last year's leading scorer) Nick Colletta and a couple of other kids and that's hard for them."

Glendora led 40-33 at the half, but Northview answered back with a 15-0 run in the second half to pull away to steal the victory.
