Gil Gonzales, Candidate for State Senate, District 25: Announcing endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business association.

Dear fellow citizens,

I beat my opponent and earned the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business, the NFIB is the nation’s leading small business association, and represents members in Washington, D.C. and all 50 states.

My opponent’s voting record and poor leadership have had harmful effects on California’s small businesses. Her failure underscores why the NFIB has made the decision to lend support to my leadership.  I am a champion for small businesses and have a proven record of increasing capital lending enabling small businesses to grow, through my position as Senior Director of Economic and Business Policy for the office of the mayor of Los Angeles. I also have experience in streamlining regulations that have allowed entrepreneurs greater flexibility in running their businesses. I am grateful for the NFIB endorsement because entrepreneurs should spend their time hiring new employees instead of allocating resources to deal with inefficient or burdensome regulations.

I have heard too often over the last few months that struggling business owners are being penalized instead of being rewarded for being job creators. We must end the strangling of small business owners by burdensome taxes. We are losing too many small businesses in our state and causing many to move outside California. We need new leadership in the 25th State Senate District and I ask that you help me support the job creators who drive our economy.

Sincerely,
