Ink & Clay Exhibit -- W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery

The W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, presents Ink & Clay 39. For the first time this year, the exhibit has gone national.

Juried by Stanton Hunter, Associate Professor of Art at Chaffey College, Michael David, Chair of Fine Arts at the Art Institute of Boston, Lesley University, and Lisa Folman, Professor of Fine Arts, also at Lesley University in Boston.

The exhibit will run from September 14 until October 26, 2013.  A reception for the artists will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 3-6 pm.
Once again Cal Poly, through the legacy of Col. Jim Jones, and continued through the efforts of  Bruce M. Jewett, presents the annual competition of the best ceramic and print artists from the United States.

The work of any juror is hard, especially when the work is professional. The decisions must be subjective but the superb quality of the work and experience on behalf of the  artists makes for a high quality show.

We are happy to offer $8,000 in cash awards this year, including (2) $1,000 purchase awards from The James H. Jones Memorial Purchase Prize and the University President’s Award sponsored by the Office of University President, J. Michael Ortiz. Other awards include (11) $500 Juror Awards and (5) $100 Director’s Choice awards.

Shortly after the exhibit officially opens, be sure to visit the gallery’s website where a virtual catalog will be available for viewing as well as a virtual tour of the exhibit. www.csupomona.edu/~kellogg_gallery. Currently Ink & Clay 38 is on view.
