Fireworks For Freedom

Want to buy some awesome fireworks? Want to support a great cause? Want a free snow cone?

If so, come on down to 753 E Arrow Highway in Azusa to get the best and prettiest fireworks you've laid eyes on. In addition, you'd be supporting a noble cause.

On June 19, The San Bernardino Police Departmentrescued dozens of girls from sex trafficking. Now, the police must find a place that will heal and restore these victims. Worldteam Foundation will do just that.

Because of L.A.’s vulnerability to human trafficking, Glendora residents, Rick and Sue Clark,

founders of the grassroots organization, Worldteam Foundation, have announced

their plans to open a community counseling center for sexually trafficked,

exploited and abused women and children. The Southern California Restoration

Center (SCRC) will offer rehabilitative and counseling services to the local

public in order to transform victims into survivors.

To raise

funds for the project, Worldteam Foundation has launched its 15th annual

(now known as) Fireworks for Freedom campaign. Worldteam’s fireworks booth will

be selling a variety of dazzling and spectacular fireworks to the public July

1-4th at 753 E. Arrow Highway Azusa, Ca.

Last

year, Worldteam served over 1,000 customers and raised $10,000. The proceeds,

much like what will happen this year, were split 50/50 with another nonprofit

organization. This 4th of July, Worldteam hopes to surpass last

year’s revenue in order to adequately fund the SCRC set to open sometime in

2015.

Rick and Sue Clark began their efforts to stop and

prevent sex trafficking in Thailand over 30 years ago and successfully opened

one safe house in Maesot and sponsored another. In 2008, they launched Worldteam

Foundation to begin resolving the local sex-trafficking problem.

“It’s important to understand that trafficking is not

something that happens in other countries,” said Clark, “We need to fix the

problem here and we need people to be involved in the restoration of this

tragedy and in preventing it.”
