Citrus College’s Haugh Performing Arts Center will present one performance of “The Bronze Star” on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.

The play is one of seven plays chosen to compete in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF), Region VIII, February 12 -17 at the Los Angeles Theater Center.  Region VIII is comprised of colleges and universities in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and Hawaii.

“The Bronze Star,” written by Dr. Bruce Solheim,  Citrus College history instructor, is the story of a heroic, gay, Vietnam veteran who struggles to find acceptance and peace during his post-war life.  It also explores current veterans’ issues, such as PTSD and readjustment to civilian life.

The play features mature content.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at http://tickets.haughpac.com/ or at the Haugh Performing Arts Center box office.
