Officers Make 138 Arrests During July 4th Holiday

The Avoid the 100 DUI Task Force reported an increase in Fourth of July arrests Thursday.

DUI arrests during the Fourth of July holiday were up 16 percent over last year, according to the countywide Avoid the 100 DUI task force.

Officers representing 100 law enforcement agencies throughout the county arrested 138 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Glendora Senior Community Services Officer Wendy Brewer.

In 2012, 119 individuals were arrested during the July 4th holiday.

The DUI crackdown will continue until Sunday, July 7. The next Avoid the 100 anti-DUI campaign will be in August for an 18-day crackdown.
