Hiker Airlifted to Hospital After Fall in San Dimas

The woman suffered a head injury while hiking in the San Dimas area Thursday.

A female hiker was airlifted to a trauma center after she fell and hit her head off a trail in San Dimas Thursday, authorities said.

A dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department said firefighters responded to 9292 San Dimas Canyon Road at around 8:22 p.m.

The woman had fallen and hit her head on a boulder, the dispatcher said. She was seen earlier in the day trying to climb a high peak in the area, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Sheriffs deputies with the San Dimas station assisted with rescue. The hiker was taken to Los Angles County/USC hospital. The current status of her condition is not known.
