High Wind Warning in Effect for San Gabriel Mountains

Heading up to the San Gabriel Mountains through Glendora Mountain Road? A high wind warning is in effect today.

High winds buffeted the Southland today (Tuesday), especially in the Antelope Valley and the San Gabriel Mountains, creating potential perilous road conditions.
   
A high wind warning signifying an expectation of sustained winds of at least 40 miles per hour and gusts of at least 58 mph was scheduled to be in effect until 3 a.m. Wednesday in the Antelope Valley and the San Gabriels, in both Los Angeles and Ventura counties.   

In the San Gabriels, gusts could reach 65 mph, according to the National Weather Service. 

This morning, the highest gust recorded was 61 mph at Whitaker Peak in
the San Gabriels. Gusts of around 50 mph were recorded in the Antelope and
Santa Clarita valleys.   

The seven-day forecast for Glendora, from the National Weather Service: 

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. West wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 85. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 88.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 95.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 92.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 86.
