Good Samaritan Helps Officer Tackle Suspect

The suspect carried a loaded gun as he fled from an officer Tuesday afternoon.

The Glendora Police Department has a previously armed suspect in custody Tuesday afternoon thanks to the efforts of a Good Samarian who helped police detain him.

Glendora Police responded to a report of suspicious person at 1 p.m. on the 1600 block of S. Banna.

An officer noticed the man who fit the description riding a motor scooter. When the officer tried to detain the man, he refused to stop and took off running.

The suspect threw a loaded gun onto a roof of house and continued running. A neighbor noticed the commotion and helped the officer tackle the suspect, according to Lt. Jamie Caldwell.

The gun was later discovered to have been stolen.

Trevor Thompson, 26, of Covina was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and making criminal threats.
