Golf Tournament Honoring Slain Glendora Police Officer Scheduled for July

The annual golf tournament honoring Glendora Police Officer Louie Pompei benefits families of officers killed in the line of duty.

On June 9, 1995, off-duty Glendora Police Officer Louie Pompei was killed while attempting to stop an armed robbery in a San Dimas grocery store. Eighteen years later, his memory continues to be honored through an annual fundraising golf tournament benefiting families of police officers killed in the line of duty.

The Louie Pompei Memorial Golf Tournament will be July 15 at the Glendora Country Club. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with the tournament starting at noon. The cost of the tournament is $150.00 per golfer and includes a cart, green fees, range balls, lunch, and unlimited drinks on the course, and dinner at T. Phillips restaurant in Glendora.

Tournament proceeds will go to the California Peace Officer Memorial Foundation, with additional proceeds donated to charitable organizations in Glendora throughout the year.
