Glendora Woman Named one of 2013 Women of the Year

Rep. Grace Napolitano honored 15 women in the 32nd Congressional District for their service in the community.

A Glendora woman was one of 15 women in the 32nd Congressional District honored by Rep. Grace Napolitano for 2013's Women of the Year.

Ellen Young was recognized for her service at the La Fetra Senior Center in Glendora. According to a statement from Rep. Napolitano’s office, all 15 women displayed “exemplary service” to be named Women of the Year at the Grace T Black Auditorium in El Monte May 10.

Each woman was nominated for the award by their volunteer organization or community group.

“These remarkable women work tirelessly to improve our community through their volunteering,” Napolitano said in a statement. “They rarely receive the praise they deserve for the endless hours they put in behind the scenes, but we all feel the impact of their selfless efforts. This award is one way to express our deepest gratitude and say thank you to these outstanding women.”
