Glendora to Debut New Dog Park at South Hills Park

The city hopes new updated amenities will make South Hills Park a destination park in Glendora.

After years of bouncing around the idea of building a dog park in the city, Glendora will finally unveil its new dog park located at South Hills Park this month.

Glendora will host a grand re-opening of South Hills Park Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a “leash-cutting ceremony” to mark the park’s official opening starting at 10:30 a.m. at 725 Mauna Loa Ave.

The renovated park will include a new dog park, a fitness track circling the entire park, a larger playground with new equipment and swings, improved restroom facilities, new barbecue pits and shade structures.

The reopening of the park will also feature opportunities for dog adoptions provided by the Inland Valley Humane Society.

Part of the Parks and Trails Master Plan approved in June 2011, the new amenities are designed to make South Hills Park a destination park and “make a positive impact to the surrounding community,” according to a city written statement.
