Glendora Murder Victims Remembered

The car wash on the corner of Route 66 and Vermont Avenue in Glendora was back in business Monday, with a steady stream of cars lined up for a wash.

But on a the corner just outside the car wash were reminders of the two men who lost their lives in what detectives described as a brutal murder early Thursday.

Flowers, candles, toys and balloons collected on a brick wall in front of the car wash in memory of the two men, described by authorities as transients who often slept at the car wash overnight.

Authorities say the two men both suffered stab wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The two victims were identified as Warren Blagrave, 52, and John Anthony Welch.

Drew Alan Friis, 28, of Glendora, was arrested Friday in connection with the murder. A second suspect, whose name was withheld by authorities, was also arrested.

Friis was scheduled to appear for his arraignment Monday morning in Pomona Superior Court.
