Glendora Enforces Ban on July 4 Fireworks

Glendora Police say they will crackdown on firework use during the July 4 holiday.

While it may be tempting to light fireworks for the July 4 holiday, Glendora Police warns residents that fireworks in Glendora are illegal and any violation can incur hefty fees and even jail time.

According to Glendora municipal code, all types of fireworks are banned, including those labeled ““safe and sane” fireworks. Violations can come with a fine of up to $1,000 or imprisonment in county jail for six months.

Glendora Police will be on the lookout for any firework activity in Glendora throughout the July 4 holiday period.

While fireworks are banned in Glendora, there are cities in Los Angeles County that allow the use of “safe and sane” fireworks, including nearby Azusa.

Glendora Mountain Road will be closed 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 to the morning of Friday, July 5 to reduce the risk of brush fires in the foothills, according to a statement by Glendora Police.

Residents can report use of fireworks in their area by calling Glendora Police at 626-914-8250. Glendora Police advise callers to have the violator’s full address ready when making a report.
