Glendora Debuts Renovated South Hills Park, Dog Park

A newly renovated South Hills Park aims to become a destination spot in Glendora.

To add to a wide network of nature trails with views over the city, Glendora debuted a newly renovated playground area and dog park that aims to draw more visitors to South Hills Park.

Glendora hosted festivities Saturday to mark the opening of the new playground, recreation area and dog park at South Hills Park, 701 E Mauna Loa Ave.  The day included a ribbon cutting ceremony, music and dog adoptions hosted by the Inland Valley Humane Society.

The park’s new additions, taken from community feedback in a citywide survey, includes two playground areas for children  ages two to five and five to 12 years old, a walking track, picnic tables, barbecue area and a new dog park area for small and large dogs.

“It needed to be a destination spot because what was here before wasn’t being used,” said Community Services Director Lashawn Butler. She added that a dog park was included in the new additions to draw more visitors to the park.
