Glendora Celebrates Independence Day

The second annual Rockin' Independence Day Jubilee brought out the crowds Monday.

The Village Business Improvement District and the City of Glendora hosted the Rockin' Independence Day Jubilee at the Glendora Village.

The event included a pancake breakfast, parade, a classic car show and musical acts, including the Stan West Blues Band, the Bobby Figueroa Band and the Surfaris, who wrote and recorded the classic hit "Wipeout."

The event, in only its second year, gives residents who would in years past head for the beach, a lake or a campground a reason to stick around town for the holiday, according to Mayor Doug Tessitor.

"This gives the the citizens of Glendora an opportunity to visit the businesses in the village, celebrate the birth of our country, and just become a community," said Tessitor.
