Get Out: Five Ideas For Your Weekend

It's about time you learned to play the ukulele.

Your life could change this weekend.

Expand your mind with an intriguing documentary, dabble for the first time in food truck gastronomy or let a blues man move you with his music.

You can consider running away with the circus or finally, finally, learn to play the ukulele.

When/Where: There will be  now through August 14 at Citizens Business Bank Arena, 4000 Ontario Center Parkway, Ontario

Why Go: The circus is in town! See incredible animals, daring stunts, airborne acrobats, goofy clowns and more. Come an hour early to meet the performers in person.

Pricing: $15-$100

When/Where: 5 p.m. this Saturday at the Pomona Fox Theatre, 301 S. Garey Ave., Pomona

Why Go: To celebrate the monthly Pomona 2nd Saturday Art Walk, Friends of the Pomona Fox will present "Desert of Forbidden Art." . After the film screening, there will be a special panel discussion moderated by arts and culture writer for the "IE Weekly," Stacy Davies. The panel will include Amanda Pope and Tchavdar Georgiev who both wrote, directed and produced the film.

Pricing: $5 adults, $3 children 12 and younger

When/Where: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. this Saturday at Memorial Park, 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre 

Why Go: This is Sierra Madre's first gourmet food truck rally and everyone's favorite food trucks will be there. Enjoy treats from Nom Nom, Frysmith, Great Balls on Tires, Tropical Shaved Ice, Truck Norris, Dim Sum Truck and CoolHaus Ice Cream.

Pricing: Varies based on menu; this event is also a fundraiser for the Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce and the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association

When/Where: 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. this Sunday at The Folk Music Center, 220 Yale Ave., Claremont

Why Go: This workshop will cover how to hold a ukulele, how to play three essential chords, how to play ten songs with those three chords and tips for buying the ukulele of your dreams. Ukuleles will be on hand to borrow if you don't have your own. Children younger than 10 must to be accompanied by an adult. 

Pricing: $20, includes a songbook

When/Where: 6 p.m. this Sunday at

Why Go: Stan West is a survivor and survivors play the best kind of blues. Come here his band play live at this free concert in the park. 

Pricing: Free
