Azusa Adult School Closes Doors

Teachers and educators at Azusa Adult School closed their classrooms for good Wednesday on its last day of the academic year. Despite little indication of reprieve from Sacramento, the school’s supporters are hopeful the school will open its doors to students again, according to a story in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

While funding for adult education remains in limbo, and the school, located at 1134 N. Barranca Ave. in Glendora, remains shuttered, Azusa Unified has reached out to local resources. The Azusa Public Library plans to offer ESL classes and Citrus College may add English-as-a-second-language to its roster of classes.

Still, the school’s employees face the grim possibility of unemployment in the fall.
