Winter Olympics Extended Day Enrichment Program

This year Cedargrove’s Extended Day Enrichment Program hosted the Winter Olympics in our very own backyard! Students represented different countries and competed among their peers to earn the most medals in hopes of being number one at this year’s 2014 Winter Olympics!!!

Wednesday, February 5, 2014 marked the beginning of the Olympics with an opening ceremony. Students lined up around the courtyard with their flags passing the torch from country to country. Throughout the month, children participated in different events testing them both physically and mentally. Points were given for each event. These included but were not limited to jump roping, throwing, hula hooping, Bingo, word searches, crosswords, long jumping, etc. The closing ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. At the ceremony, top winners were given certificates and medals. Following the presentation of winners, all students who participated in the games got the opportunity to enjoy a snack party. What a wonderful way to introduce our students to different countries around the world and unite everyone for a friendly competition of physical and mental abilities.
