The Employment Development Department releases its predictions of which industries will see the highest demand in jobs.

California is seeing a gradual climb to economic recovery and several job sectors are projected to see substantial growth. According to the California Employment Development Department, these industries include Professional and Business Services, Educational Services, Health Care and Social Assistance, and Leisure and Hospitality.

The California jobs expected to see the most growth are:

1) Executive Secretaries
Median Wage: $48,067
Education: One year of training
Projected openings for 2010-2012: 13,500

2) Sales Representatives, Wholesale and Manufacturing
Median Wage: $56,673
Education: One year of training.
Projected openings for 2010-2012: 13,700

3) Registered Nurses
Median Wage: $86,547
Education: Two years of training
Projected openings for 2010-2012: 17,310

4) Office Support Supervisors
Median Wage: $54,388
Education: Two years of training
Projected openings for 2010-2012: 13,530

5) Computer Software Engineers, Applications
Median Wage: $102,269
Education: bachelor’s degree or higher
Projected openings for 2010-2012: 8,600

6) Accountants and Auditors
Median Wage: $68,694
Education: bachelor’s degree or higher
Projected openings for 2010-2012: 11,080
