The Donut Man’s Strawberry Doughnuts Named L.A.’s Iconic Dish

The doughnuts beat out In-N-Out Burgers, Philippe's French dips and Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in KCET's online poll.

Glendora’s landmark doughnut shop The Donut Man has earned yet another distinction – L.A.’s Iconic Dish.

The doughnut shop and its famous  strawberry doughnuts earned the new title through KCET’s online voting bracket.

The strawberry-packed glazed doughnuts beat out other iconic L.A. foods, such as In-N-Out cheeseburgers, bacon-wrapped hotdogs, French dip sandwiches at Philippe The Original and Roscoe’s chicken and waffles, according to a story in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The Glendora doughnut shop at 915 E. Route 66, has had plenty of attention over the years, including features on the Food Network and countless food magazines and blogs. The late Huell Howser even paid a visit to the Donut Man for an episode of “Visiting…with Huell Howser.”
