Facebook Announces New Social Search Feature

New feature called "Graph Search" designed to give users personalized answers to queries.

Facebook announced a new feature called “Graph Search” on Tuesday at its global headquarters in Menlo Park.

The social media company has been working on optimizing its search functionality, since Mark Zukerberg announced it would focus on refining its mobile products last year. The new search will be designed to simulate asking several friends a question all at the same time, according to people familiar with the matter.

The search will include about a billion Facebook users, and is designed to give users an answer not links that take them to where they can find the answer.
