Dogs Looking For Homes at Business Expo

About 20 dogs will be available for adoption during Saturday's event at the Diamond Ridge Shopping Center.

About 20 dogs will be looking for homes Saturday, as The Dog Rescuers will be adopting out pets during the Glendora Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Community Expo at the Diamond Ridge Shopping Center.

The dogs come from the Baldwin Park animal shelter and each pet will be spayed, neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped for a price of $100 per pet.

“We see 600 dogs and cats being put down each day,” said Veronica Ferrantelli of The Dog Rescuers, a nonprofit organization, which works with local shelters to spay and neuter dogs and find new homes for the animals. “Bottom line, we’re putting down so many animals a day and we don’t need to do that. It’s costing our government a lot of money and it just doesn’t need to be done.”

Anyone interested in adopting an animal can come to the Expo to meet and interact with each pet. Paperwork will be ready and once decision to adopt is made, the owners can take home their pets that same day.

Adoptions will be done during the Expo Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Diamond Ridge Shopping Center (where and are located).
