All that is left of the nearly 50-year-old Taco Bell building on Route 66 is a pile of rubble being cleared away for a newer, bigger Taco Bell.
Construction crews were clearing away the debris from the recent demolition of the original Taco Bell building built in 1966.
Taco Bell estimates that construction will last for about 90 days before they plan to reopen the Glendora location in a 2,024-square-foot facility at 116 E Route 66.
Rebuilding and new landscaping includes the removal of a large camphor tree and will be replaced by two newer trees.
The new building will be built across the street from the future Avalon Bay apartment complex.
