Chamber Names America's Christian Credit Union Business of the Year

The Glendora Chamber of Commerce named America’s Christian Credit Union its 2011 Business of the Year.

The chamber annually recognizes an exceptional business within the community and designated its award to the full-service financial institution Friday, May 30.

America’s Christian Credit Union, which has served people and ministries since 1958, moved to Glendora to its current location at 2100 E. Route 66 six years ago. Open Monday through Saturday, America’s Christian Credit Union has over $500 million in total managed assets.

In keeping with the company’s mission station “To Reach, Serve & Teach,” the America’s Christian CU has hosted community events, including its annual Snow Day and semi-annual blood drives. The credit union has also supported local schools, colleges and universities and has been involved in a variety of volunteer programs.

“Our commitment to serve is our top priority each and every day,” said President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson in a press statement. “We don’t do this to win awards; we do this because we truly care about our members and the community we serve. To be recognized for our efforts in this manner makes what we do even more special.”

The formal recognition and presentation of the Glendora Chamber of Commerce’s 2011 Business of the Year award will take place during a special awards dinner set for June 29, 2011 at the Glendora Country Club.
