High Winds Expected Across County

Wind-whipped valley could experience high winds Thursday through Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Los Angeles County area including the San Gabriel Valley Thursday into Friday.

Winds are expected to be between 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. Gusts are expected to peak mid-morning Thursday and diminish late in the day, officials said.

The wind advisory is in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday. The strong north to northeast Santa Ana winds will develop early Thursday morning. The strongest winds are expected to occur just below the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley, officials said.

The winds will decrease slightly by late Thursday afternoon, rebounding Friday with weaker winds.

Highs Thursday are expected to be in the high 50s, with lows in the high 30s, the same forecasted for Friday.
