April Showers Expected This Week
Two storms will roll in to the Southland, with the first hitting late Tuesday and the second storm expected to hit Friday.
LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Don't wash the car, as a pair of winter storms were predicted to hit the Southland Tuesday night into Wednesday and Friday, National Weather Service forecasters said today.
Between a half inch and a full inch of rain is likely in the coastal plains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties from each storm. Snow was likely in the mountains, but snow amounts were not yet fixed in any NWS predictions from the Oxnard forecast office.
Tuesday's and Wednesday's storm is expected to bring winds out of the Southeast between 5 and 10 miles per hour. Gusts are expected to be 15 miles per hour.

Thursday will bring sunny skies, while rains are likely to return in time for Friday, with rain dissipating by Saturday morning.
The storms were predicted to be stronger to the south of Los Angeles, and about twice as much rain was forecast for Orange and San Diego counties' coastal strip. Snow down to the 5,500-foot elevation was predicted as cold air moves in late Wednesday to the inland mountains near Idyllwild, Palomar Mountain and Alpine.
