Suspect Eludes Officers During High-Speed Pursuit

Glendora Police are searching for a man suspected of stealing a car out of Claremont.

Officers are searching for a man suspected of stealing a vehicle in Claremont and leading them on a high-speed pursuit.

At around 3:45 a .m., Glendora Police picked up a LoJack hit from a stolen Chevy Suburban out of Claremont near the freeway.

Officers spotted the vehicle near Azusa and followed the driver on a brief, 80-mph pursuit. The driver hit a parked vehicle and then drove into a residential neighborhood, where officers lost sight of the vehicle, said Sgt. Matt Williams.

Shortly after, both Glendora and Azusa Police responded to a call about a solo car crash on Lark Ellen Avenue and Arrow Highway and discovered the stolen vehicle abandoned. Officers set up a perimeter, but the suspect escaped.

Glendora Police believe the suspect was injured in the solo crash.
