Theodore Boone at the Library

In cooperation with Blue Chair Children’s Book Store, the Glendora Public Library will host “The Story Pirates,” an acclaimed children’s theater group as they present “Theodore Boone and the Thrill of Rights.” The show, aimed at children ages 8 and up, will take place on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Library Bidwell Forum.

“Theodore Boone and the Thrill of Rights” is based on John Grisham’s Theodore Boone children’s novels.

In “Theodore Boone and the Thrill of Rights,” Theo Boone is on trial for stealing the Bill of Rights! With a signed letter of permission from his parents, Theo decides that the best lawyer to try his case is himself. He’ll go head to head with the unorthodox but extremely well-prepared prosecutor. With the help of a no-nonsense judge and an emotional security guard, Theo will have to think on his feet to prove his innocence. He may even stumble upon the true culprit! During the performance, the audience will learn basic concepts of the American justice system while being introduced to the world and characters of the Theodore Boone books, which follow the adventures of a 13-year-old amateur attorney in the small southern town of Strattenburg. The performance will include sound effects, interactive skits and games, and the audience will act as a jury. The show will be followed by a “Theodore Boone & the Thrill of Rights” official bus tour poster signing.
